Unless otherwise stated a session is one hour. The client
will be charged pro rata for additional time added on to a

If a client wishes to be visited at their home or specific
venue of their choice and the therapist has to travel for
more than 15 minutes to accomodate this, then this may incur
a charge. Business/training contracts are exempt from this
fee.
We will have a screening conversation with most potential
clients. This provides both parties with an opportunity to
consider whether they wish to work together. It is just as
important that you feel comfortable with your therapist, as
it is that he or she feels able to work with you. At the end
of the first session we would arrange to meet for an agreed
number of sessions.
There is no obligation to attend all the sessions arranged
and you are free to terminate your appointments at any time.
A review session takes place at the end of the agreed number
of sessions where we jointly assess progress and what further
action, if any, may be needed. If we decide not to work together
we try to provide you with details of alternative practitioners
or agencies.
Cancellation Policy
A full 24 hours notice is required for cancelled
appointments otherwise the full fee is payable.
Approach
There are many different models of counselling to choose
from. We do not believe there is one model that helps everyone
as each person is an individual and what might suit one person
may not necessarily suit another. We aim to be sensitive to
the cultural and ethnic origins of individuals and to people's
religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
Confidentiality and Access to Case Notes
The trust between client and therapist is crucial to the
success of the process and the therapists will all treat all
information disclosed as confidential with the exception of
drug running, terrorism and road traffic accidents involving
injury to a third party and not previously reported. Any details
a supervisor receives are also treated as confidential and
the therapists do not disclose client details to a third party
without the client's permission. However, if in the therapist's
opinion a client/supervisee is a danger to him/herself or
to others the therapist reserves the right to inform appropriate
agencies. It is good practice, wherever possible, to inform
the client/supervisee first. Extremely rarely notes can be
seized by the police/courts with a subpoena or warrant. The
therapist will keep brief notes following each session that
you are entitled to see if you so wish.
We each recognise that some clients require confidentiality
in respect of their GP and in these instances will just record
the GP's contact details so that we can contact them in case
of emergency or danger to self and others.
The therapists prefer to ask permission and inform the client's
G.P. that they are commencing therapy, so that the G.P. knows
that the therapist is working with their patient and also
inform them of closing client contact. For client's safety
and because a therapist may need GP advice or assistance (for
instance regarding medication), we all believe this is good
professional practice.
Child Protection
If a client who is a child or young person (under the age of 18), discloses to the therapist new information of
experiencing abuse, the therapist reserves the right to inform appropriate agencies.
Generally this will be done with the consent of the child or young person and their parents or those with
parental responsibility for the child or young person. If consent is refused or gaining consent would in the
therapist’s professional opinion, put the child or young person at greater risk, then the therapist will report
the issue to the appropriate agencies.
Declining a service
The individual therapists of tri therapy reserve the right
to decline to offer a service to any individual person or
organisation. This decision will only be taken after due consideration
of any request.
Contacting tri-therapy
The therapists of tri therapy may be contacted by e mail
or phone and will respond as soon as practically possible.
The therapists in tri therapy are all sole traders
and contracts made with any of them are a contract between
the client/ business/agency and the individual therapist.
