Margot Levinson is a Cognitive Behavioural
Psychotherapist and an EMDR practitioner. Margot has a C.Q.S.W.
and P.G. Dip.in Psychiatric Social Work; a C.C.E.T.S.W. Practice
Teacher Award; a P.G. Cert. In Teaching and Learning in Higher
Education; a P.G. Dip in Applied Social Learning, Theory and
Counselling; an MSc in Advanced Psychiatric Social Work and
an MSc. (Distinction) in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
She is an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist
with the BABCP and has full indemnity insurance. She is fully
trained in EMDR including work with children.
Margot joined Derby University in 2005 and is Programme Leader MSc CBP/CBT
(Children and Adolescents) as well as Senior Lecturer in Cognitive Behavioural
Psychotherapy (Adults). She is also a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist for Derbyshire CAMHS.
Margot has extensive experience, spanning thirty years, of working with children, adolescents,
families and adults. She has worked in Higher Education, Social Care, the NHS, independent and voluntary
sectors, in a variety of settings. She is a mental health specialist qualified as a psychiatric social
worker (Adults and Children), Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (Adults and Children) and Lecturer
in Higher Education. Margot has also designed and delivered training for both statutory and independent
sector agencies. She also has substantial experience as a clinical supervisor. Her specialist interests
include child and family psychiatry; parenting issues; assessment and clinical supervision; PTSD; post abuse work;
OCD; depression and anxiety conditions.
